Dear Pastor,
My name is Rebekah Gomez, and I am writing to you by the grace of God and with a heart stirred by the Holy Spirit to serve our great state. I am a blue-collar worker, Air Force combat veteran, and single mother of two spirit-led children whom I homeschool. I feel the Lord's calling to serve Ohio as Governor in 2026, positioned "for such a time as this."
The Lord has been preparing me my whole life for this moment—through every trial that tested my faith, every victory that proved His faithfulness. Earlier this year, He spoke clearly into my heart about this calling, and I received confirmation through unmistakable signs of His purpose for my life.
My calling is rooted in servant leadership, following the example of Jesus Christ. Jesus taught us that "whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant" (Mark 10:43). I am committed to centering government around God first, then prioritizing the people of Ohio and serving families with love, compassion, and humility. This is not about power or prestige—it's about washing feet, bearing burdens, and laying down personal ambition to serve God's purposes for our state.
I am writing to respectfully request an opportunity to share my heart and calling with your congregation, and to ask for your prayerful consideration of officially endorsing my candidacy for Governor of Ohio in 2026. The Holy Spirit is moving across Ohio, and I believe He is calling us to revival, to restoration, to a great awakening that will transform our state from the inside out.
The hour is late, and the church must rise NOW. For too long, we have watched darkness advance while the bride of Christ remained silent. This is not about politics as usual - this is about the urgent call of God for His church to arise and take her rightful place in the battle for righteousness in our land.
With the historic July 7, 2025, IRS ruling that removed all legal barriers for churches to endorse candidates, I believe this is the perfect time for the church to boldly step into the civic arena and support biblical leadership.

Who I Am:
My faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation of everything I do. I don't just believe in Him—I follow Him. My relationship with Christ isn't intellectual or theoretical; it's a living, active faith that guides every decision I make. As Jesus said in John 20:29, "Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." That's my testimony. I believe with a conviction that no fact or argument could strengthen because my faith comes from the Holy Spirit's witness in my heart.
Jesus modeled servant leadership. He washed His disciples' feet, He came to serve rather than be served, and He laid down His life for others. That's the kind of leader I am called to be. Not someone seeking power or prestige, but someone willing to stand in the gap for others, to speak truth even when it's unpopular, and to love Ohio's families the way Christ loves us.
I've received multiple prophetic words confirming God's call on my life for this assignment. The Lord has shown me that I am a trumpet in His hands, sounding the alarm for mercy and justice, and a plumb line for this generation, measuring everything against His righteousness. This isn't about political ambition. This is about obedience to what God has clearly and repeatedly spoken.
I lead with boldness because I know whose I am. I don't fear man's opinion when God has already spoken. I carry the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, and I lead with integrity, service before self, and excellence in all things. These aren't just values I claim; they're the character God has been building in me for such a time as this.
Ohio doesn't need another politician. Ohio needs a leader who will bring God back into government, who will love her people sacrificially, and who will stand firm on biblical truth no matter the cost. That's who I am. That's what I'm called to do.
My Calling & Message:
I feel the Lord's calling to serve Ohio as Governor in 2027, positioned like Queen Esther "for such a time as this." In September of last year, I received a prophetic word that the Lord has placed a trumpet in my hands to trumpet His mercy and justice, and that I am a plumb line in His hands. I have been given a message of truth, freedom, and liberty for Ohio. This isn't about political ambition; this is about fulfilling a prophetic assignment. Just as biblical trumpets announce God's messages and call people to action, I am called to sound the alarm about what's happening in our state while declaring God's mercy for those who repent. As His plumb line, I will measure every law and policy against biblical standards, exposing what's crooked and establishing what's straight according to His righteousness.
The Holy Spirit is moving across Ohio, calling us to revival and restoration. God has given me a trumpet to sound His alarm and a message of truth, freedom, and liberty. Ohio stands at a crossroads. The church must rise NOW. As the Lord's trumpet, I am called to proclaim both His mercy for repentance and His justice for righteousness. As His plumb line, every law and policy will be measured against biblical standards. Ohio was built on the foundation of faith, and it's time we return to seeking God's guidance in governance with URGENCY. We cannot afford another generation of passive Christianity while darkness advances. We must invite God back into our public square, our schools, and our government, and we must do it NOW. When we align ourselves with His will, families are restored, communities are healed, and our state prospers. Like the prophet Habakkuk, we cry out: "Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord. Repeat them in our day, in our time, make them known." The church must rise with holy urgency. True leadership comes from divine revelation, governing with the fruit of the Spirit, and seeking God's wisdom for every decision that affects Ohio families.
This is a movement of the people, by the people—not by wealthy donors, but by faithful believers who understand the call to action. We're calling Ohio back to the principles our founders established in the Northwest Ordinance: that "Religion, morality, and knowledge, being necessary to good government and the happiness of mankind, schools and the means of education shall forever be encouraged." The Lord has richly blessed Ohio with abundant resources, and like the faithful steward in Christ's parable, we are called to wisely manage every gift God has placed in our care. Scripture tells us that "the earth is the Lord's, and everything in it" (Psalm 24:1). We will be faithful guardians of Ohio's natural resources while responsibly developing them for good-paying jobs.
Church Civic Engagement
God's Call to Seek the Welfare of Our Communities:
Jeremiah 29:7-"Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper."
Isaiah 1:17-"Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow."
Righteous Leadership Matters:
Proverbs 29:2-"When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan."
Proverbs 11:11-"Through the blessing of the upright a city is exalted, but by the mouth of the wicked it is destroyed."
Proverbs 28:12-"When the righteous triumph, there is great elation; but when the wicked rise to power, people go into hiding."
Biblical Leadership Qualities:
Scripture gives us clear qualities that mark biblical leadership: servanthood, following Christ's example of washing His disciples' feet; integrity-being the same person in private as we are in public; leading by example, not asking others to do what we're unwilling to do ourselves; courage-standing for truth even when it's unpopular; wisdom-seeking God's counsel above human opinion; love-genuinely caring for those we serve; compassion-having hearts that break for what breaks God's heart; and accountability to God, remembering that we will give an account for how we stewarded every responsibility He entrusted to us.
God Establishes Government for Good:
Romans 13:1-4 - "Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established... For the one in authority is God's servant for your good."
1 Timothy 2:1-2 - "I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness."

The Call to Unity - URGENT!
Some have been deceived into believing that faith and government should be separate, that believers should stay silent while others shape the laws that govern our families and communities. But the hour is late, and the church MUST rise! Scripture declares that "the government will be on his shoulders" (Isaiah 9:6), speaking of Christ's ultimate authority over all earthly powers.
As His body, we are called to be salt and light in every sphere of society, including government. "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it" (John 1:5). The time for passive Christianity is OVER. When believers disengage from government, we abandon our posts and allow darkness to rule where light should shine. Throughout Scripture, God places His people in positions of influence. Daniel served faithfully in government, Joseph was elevated to second-in-command of Egypt, and Nehemiah governed Jerusalem's restoration.
The enemy is not waiting - neither can we. The church must rise with URGENCY! This campaign seeks to unite the body of Christ across denominational lines for spiritual revival and community restoration. The Holy Spirit is moving, calling us back to righteousness, back to His truth, and back to governing according to His principles - and He's calling us NOW, not tomorrow.
